Never slept so well in my life!

The mute nasal dilators work really well to prevent nasal valvular collapse and sleep apnea. The nasal dilators should be required in combination with use of the CPAP machine if you are diagnosed with nasal valvular collapse, because the CPAP machine its self does not keep the nasal valves from collapsing during sleep.

They work but they are a little irritating inside the nose. Maybe it's the dry air up here in Colorado combined with the device rubbing inside my nostril but I've had to take a break from them for the last week.

Thanks for the review, Scott. Have you tried all sizes? Neither Mute or Turbine should move around once inside your nose, so shouldn't be rubbing too much.

I have struggled with a deviated septum all my life. Athletics and that condition compound to create a breathing nightmare. One side of my nose is always closed off and it's rarely the same side each day. Mouth breathing only creates its own issues. I have tried nasal strips with limited success. I found this product from Rhinomed on a forum by accident. It was cheap enough to try and after first use I discovered it was a real charm. An actual intra-nasal dilator was exactly what I needed. It's a little odd getting used to but I found it to be a difference maker. I can almost breathe properly.

Thanks for the great review, Christopher!

Although this simple little device feels a little odd at first, it's very cool to put it in and immediately be able to breathe better. I'm not very good at adjusting the size of the loops, but I think that is a case of being too lazy to put my reading glasses on and figure it out properly (reading the directions is always a good idea too). My chiropractor recommended this product to me (he is more of a physical & massage therapist than a traditional chiropractor and is a very active hiker and cyclist). He suggested I get the medium size and said that among all his patients he has never seen anyone who is not a medium when it comes to nostril size.

Despite the above, after using the nasal dilator for several weeks, I have woken up in the morning on 3 occasions with the device not in my nose. Oddly, on 2 of those days the dilator was sitting on my nightstand, and I had definitely put it in, so I had apparently taken it out and placed it there IN MY SLEEP. This morning it had fallen out in the night and I located it amongst the sheets. Clearly I need to work on adjusting the loop size to be more comfortable, but I'm not sure what to do to keep it from falling out. Maybe I don't actually have the correct size.

Overall, despite the minor struggles I'm having with adjusting the loop size, I have been sleeping like a log since I started using this. Full disclosure: I started using mouth tape at the same time. I have been using Somnifix tape, which I like because the adhesive doesn't cause a rash, but I don't like it because it has a plastic backing which is not recyclable to my knowledge. Paper tape causes a rash. When I run out of Somnifix I will try the kind offered by Rhinomed.

I will also note that whereas I've heard that side-sleeping is supposed to be better for one's health, that is not the most comfortable position for me while I have the nasal dilator in place - It's more comfortable to sleep on my back. Since I'm using mouth tape also, I am presumably not snoring, so perhaps it all evens out.

I definitely recommend the Mute Snoring Nasal Dilator, along with mouth tape, to anyone who wants to improve the quality of their sleep. Also, if you talk in your sleep in addition to snoring, I'm guessing any sleeping partners will be very happy to have you using these products.

Thanks for the detailed review, Mary! You should definitely give Mute Mouth Tape a try.

These are great for opening up my nose during sport. Don't think I could do without them anymore.

    Amazing to hear, thanks Joe!

You may want to use the "Mute" version if your sinuses are fairly small. In either the Turbo or Mute versions prepare to find them uncomfortable (until you forget they're there).

Thanks Phil. Great callout – Turbine and Mute are slightly different designs and different materials, and we do hear some people prefer one over the other. And while Turbine is designed for sport and exercise, and Mute is designed for sleep, they can both be used for either activity if one suits a particular nose more than the other.

While I was VERY skeptical whether this would help me breathe better at night I was very pleasantly surprised that it does. I have allergies and I had surgery to remove a small lesion on the outside of my nose, that damaged what's called the nasal valve, a muscle that keeps the nostrils open. Your adjustable device works very well and unlike the adhesive strips it doesn't leave any residue or loose tension due to skin oils.

Thanks Gary. We LOVE reviews like this. It's awesome to hear that Mute's helping you breathe better!

    They work great!

    ❤️

The only thing that's worked for me! Snore strips would fall off due to the sweat during races, and drugstore nasal expanders would slide out if my nose ran. These stay put through my entire workout or race, even if I gently have to blow my nose. Used them in a half marathon this weekend for a personal best.

This is so good to hear, Jackie. Congrats on the half marathon PB!

    Great design. Works very well.

    Thanks Angela!

Great way to test these out after a recco from my dentist. They help a lot!

Great to hear your dentist recommended Mute and that you're a fan.

This is the best mouth tape I've used. But i have sensitive skin and it was really painful and difficult to take off. I wish they made one for sensitive skin that isn't quite so adhesive. I've used a lot of differing mouth tapes and this is the only one that stayed put all night

Thanks for the review, Christine! It's a tricky balance getting the adhesive right to stay on all night, but be easy to remove when needed. You could try adding some warm soapy water to remove – that might help!

effective product, a bit expensive for what it is

Thanks Frank. We're glad you found Mute effective.

    Mute works great!

Thanks Jeanne! Glad you're a fan.

So far this has the best thing to help with my snoring. Not a 100% fix, though my rest and recovery tracked with my WHOOP has dramatically increased. This was a game changer for me.

Thanks Joseph. Great to hear it's working for you!

I love these dilators in concept. I've used other disposable brands and wanted to find a science-backed, reusable option. Unfortunately, these don't really fit me even when adjusted for size, the small is too small even fully extended and the medium is uncomfortably tight even at its smallest. It would be nice if there was more size overlap so these could be a bit more adjustable for both septum and nostril size.

Thanks Tanith. We're always looking at ways to improve Mute, so will take that feedback on board.

Works well to stop snoring . The ability to adjust is the key. Would suggest a little more adjustment capability on the large size

Thanks Mary for the great review! We love hearing about potential product improvements, and will take this feedback on board.

Tried many other brands of this type of product and this is the best by far. Firm adhesive which does not irritate skin ands stays in place - very happy with my choice

Thanks for the great review. We weren't the first to make a mouth tape, but we were striving to make a great one to go alongside our other products. Glad you love it!

    Thanks for leaving a review!

Turbine nasal dilators have been a complete game changer for me when it comes to cardio activities. I thought that I hated running. Turns out that what I actually hated was struggling to breathe whenever my activity levels demanded more oxygen! With these nasal dilators, I can breathe deeply and consistently throughout my workouts. I don't have to worry about the product losing stickiness like with disposable nasal strips. I don't dread cardio workouts anymore and for that I can thank this amazing product! Thank you for helping me round out my fitness and achieve so many new PBs!

Love this so much Ema! Thrilled Turbine is making cardio more fun for you.

I have a deviated septum in one nostril, and Mute opens it right up so that I can breathe through that nostril and sleep better. No more mouth breathing at night. Wonderful invention.

Thanks for the feedback, Cheryl! We love hearing how Mute is helping people breathe better, sleep better and generally make a difference in our customers' lives.

None of the sizing options worked for me. Small was too small, and medium was too large, so I had to choose between "totally unhelpful" and "extremely uncomfortable."

    Hi William,
Really sorry to hear that. Did you try adjusting the size of the Small? They're designed to fit most noses. But feel free to reach out for a refund - we offer a 30 day money back guarantee.

Barbara has used Mute for several years. Here is her quote
"So comfortable to use. Don't even know I am using Mute -BUT- my husband sure does as he enjoys a peaceful sleep".
